Let's Build a Grassroots Tiny Home - or Two!

As affordable as they are to build, the $4500 cost of materials for our homes is still a big nut. Even in this city, that's 2-3 months' worth of rent for many people and so donating that amount is way out of reach. But an anonymous donor wants to encourage anyone who's interested to chip in whatever you can, and be a part of sponsoring another new tiny home that'll make such a huge difference.

To honor our upcoming 800th home, we're holding a grassroots tiny home sponsorship for the remainder of the summer, and we're especially hoping to attract folks who've never donated before. Just as thousands of you will have each chipped in hours to get us to 140,000 total since we began when we hit our upcoming 800th home, we're hoping as many of you as possible will chip in to collectively sponsor the cost of a new home.

From now through Labor Day Monday, we're collecting donations starting at just $10 towards the cost of another new tiny home. If at least 100 of those donations, at any amount, come from first-time new donors, then our anonymous donor will top off whatever amount is remaining to get to the full $4500 cost. If donations total more than that, and we've also reached 100 first-time new donors, then that person will top off the cost of a SECOND full home. So it's not the amount that really matters, it's the participation.

What better way to honor everyone's efforts to build 800 tiny homes, a few hours at a time, than to sponsor the costs of a home, a few dollars at a time. We hope you'll help spread the word!
