Love Notes for Loved Ones

Sound Foundations NW (SFNW) is addressing the crisis of unsheltered homelessness in Seattle by producing transitional tiny homes with our quick, efficient, cost effective, and streamlined building system. Our tiny homes are insulated, heated, roofed, with operable windows and a locking front door for privacy and security. They are a relatively inexpensive, scalable, desirable, and dignified alternative to living in tents, cars, and encampments while residents receive the help and services they need to stabilize and move from the streets into permanent housing.

As our volunteers build the homes, we have a tradition of writing short notes of encouragement, inspiration, humor, and memories. We call these Love Notes. The notes are covered over as part of the building process, but the love and encouragement that goes into them stays in the walls of every home to nurture every single resident over the home's entire 20-year life.

In the spirit of February 14, our goal is to raise the cost of one new tiny home from dozens of individuals who want to share the love they have to share. Will you help show our homeless neighbors that they're loved as they work to get off the streets, and help us build another tiny home in the process?

Every donation, at any amount, will appear on our donor scroll with your personal message of love, encouragement, hope, or positivity, and will also be published in our newsletter on the evening of February 14. Prefer to remain anonymous? No problem, just uncheck the box that says, "Post my name" and your name won't be used.

If you're able to help just a little more, we'll also add your message (up to 25 words) into a home during the week leading up to 2/14. Your short message might recognize a loved one or a family member, or it might just offer words of encouragement. We'll copy your message that you leave here on the donation form into the walls of a home and send you a photo by 2/14 that you can share.
